Sandy Kobrock and Mark Mueller

Sandy Kobrock and Mark Mueller own and operate Wolf Creek Avalanche School and Wolf Creek Backcountry's Pass Creek Yurt. Sandy and Mark have 50 combined years of operational avalanche field work and avalanche education upon which to draw. Their backcountry experience includes extended ski tours in Colorado, the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades, British Columbia, and Europe.

Sandy is recognized by the American Avalanche Association as a Certified Instructor. She is an AIARE Level 1 & Level 2 Instructor and an AIARE Instructor Trainer. Her experience at the Wolf Creek Ski Area as the Patrol Director, Assistant Director, snow safety supervisor, and ski patrol Supervisor at Squaw Valley USA is part of her 27 years of professional avalanche work. Sandy has taught Level 1 & 2 courses for the Silverton Avalanche School, Telluride Avalanche School, NOLS Winter Instructor Training, CDOT, and Babes in the Backcountry. Sandy's expertise includes 20 years as a corporate trainer in decision-making, accountability, personal awareness, and intentional communication. Additionally Sandy's passion leads her to support people in their perfect health and vitaility through her company PowerfulWellness.

Mark Mueller

Mark has been the Avalanche Forecaster on Wolf Creek Pass for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center for 16 seasons. Mark is the Executive Director of the American Avalanche Association. His current work and his 12 years as Ski Patrol Director at Squaw Valley provides Mark 32 years experience with avalanches. Mark is an AIARE Level 1 & 2 instructor.
