Sandy Kobrock and Mark Mueller

 Sandy Kobrock and Mark Mueller own and operate Wolf Creek Avalanche School and Wolf Creek Backcountry's Pass Creek Yurt. Sandy and Mark have over 50 combined years of operational avalanche field work and avalanche education upon which to draw. Their backcountry experience includes extended ski tours in Colorado, the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades, British Columbia, and Europe.

Sandy owns and operates the Pass Creek Yurt, The Wolf Creek Avalanche School, and Adventure Coaching.  She is recognized by the American Avalanche Association as a Certified Instructor. Sandy is an AIARE Level 1 & Level 2 Instructor and Course Leader and has been an AIARE Instructor Trainer. Her experience at the Wolf Creek Ski Area as the Patrol Director, Assistant Director, snow safety supervisor, and ski patrol Supervisor at Squaw Valley USA results in her 28 years of professional avalanche work. Sandy has taught Level 1 & 2 courses for the Silverton Avalanche School, Telluride Avalanche School, NOLS Winter Instructor Training, CDOT, and Babes in the Backcountry. Sandy's expertise includes 20 years as a corporate trainer supporting people with decision-making, accountability, personal awareness, and intentional communication.

Winter 2014 marks Mark's 22nd season as the CAIC Avalanche Forecaster for Wolf Creek Pass.  This role combined with his 12 years as Ski Patrol Director at Squaw Valley makes 34 years of professional work with avalanches. He was the Executive Director of the American Avalanche Association for 12 years. Mark loves sharing his passion with snow with our customers by keeping the Pass Creek Yurt functioning and beautiful, and adding his expertise to our L1 & L2 courses.
